How Vera Works

Swipe the feed

One card fills the screen. Swipe for the next one. The feed mixes five kinds of card so you are never just reading.

Answer before the reveal

Call a myth True or Myth, pick an answer to a question, or choose a side in a dispute. Then see the verdict and the explanation.

Check the evidence tier

Every card is stamped Confirmed, Reported, Disputed or Legend, so you know how solid a claim is before you believe it.

Open the dossier

Tap More on any card for the full research writeup: every claim with its tier, linked sources, and what is still unknown.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vera?

Vera is a swipeable feed of short, sourced cards. There are five kinds: quick facts, myths you call True or Myth, multiple-choice questions, quotes you check, and "You decide" cards on questions that are still disputed. Every card carries an evidence tier and names its sources.

What do Confirmed, Reported, Disputed and Legend mean?

They are evidence tiers. Confirmed: backed by two independent reputable sources, or one primary source. Reported: a single or softer source, stated with an honest hedge. Disputed: named experts disagree, and both sides are shown. Legend: folklore, told as a story, not a fact.

Where do I find the sources for a card?

The bottom of a card shows how many sources it has and where the first one comes from. On cards you answer first, this appears after you answer. Tap More on any card to open the dossier, which lists every claim for that topic with its tier and linked sources. Source links open in your browser.

What is a dossier?

The dossier is the full research writeup behind a card. It lists each claim with its evidence tier and sources, the questions that are still open, and notes on what to read with care.

How do "You decide" cards work?

They cover questions where named experts or institutions disagree. Read the positions and tap the one you find most convincing. There is no right answer. Once enough people have answered, the card shows how the votes split. Until then it tells you that you are one of the first.

I picked three topics at the start. Can other topics still show up?

Yes. The three topics you pick on first run decide where your feed starts. They do not filter anything out, so you will still see cards from other topics.

How do I save a card or find it again?

Tap Save on a card. Your saved cards are under Profile, then Saved. You can also react to a card (heart, fire, skeptical or insightful) and share it.

I think a card is wrong. What should I do?

Email support@animoramedia.com with the card's subject line and what you think is wrong, ideally with a source. We will check it against the research file and correct the card if needed.

How do I sign in?

Vera uses Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, or an email and password. Signing in keeps your saves, reactions and answers with your account.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile, then Settings, then Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the data tied to it. If you cannot get into the app, email support@animoramedia.com and we will do it for you.
